These coin operated machines provide the ability to make washing and drying a cheaper solution. Meaning, you wash when you can afford it. This can be especially useful for households who don’t like large unexpected quarterly bills for electricity and water.

Coin operated washer and dryer can work by simply putting in what is usually 1 dollar and turning the dial on the machine to the desired setting.

These machines are becoming more and more popular as time goes on, as some electricity and water companies are charging extortionate rates for usage.

There are disadvantages to using coin operated washing machines though such as, if you are unlucky enough to have no money at all, you may struggle to do your washing and drying. Also, if you have a large family and need lots of washing done each day this could work out more expensive than conventional machines as thirty loads per week could work out at $120 per month.

This machines can be purchased for around $900 making them slightly more expensive than conventional machines. But overall they may work out cheaper in the long run so paying out might just be worth it.
